Say What!

"This is big, This is a race Dale (Blaney) and I try to win every year. To beat that guy (Danny Dietrich) in my last race...because I'm officially done right now- there's no better way to retire than to win this one. It was a great race, I don't think I was the fastest car by any means. The 6 (Smith) had trouble and the 48 (Dietrich) was all over me, but we hung on. I tried to protect and saw where Danny was getting his runs from. You don't think too much and run as hard as you can and hope you don't give him a lane to drive up in front of you. I can't believe we did it- this is awesome. Thank you to everyone for coming out."  Dave Blaney retiring from racing after winning his 3rd Lou Blaney Memorial at Sharon Speedway OH

  • Diversified Machine Inc. (DMI) and Bulldog Quick Change Rears would like to announce that we will no longer be manufacturing ULTRALIGHT 2” i.d. sprint car axles. While there are various part numbers still available on the shelf, once inventory is depleted the axle will be discontinued. The sprint car industry over the last 20 years has commonly offered two different i.d. axles. 1.875” i.d. axles were introduced to the industry in the early 90’s as a “LIGHTWEIGHT” option. The1.875” has always been DMI’s standard weight option. 2.055” i.d. axles were introduced in the late 90’s as an “ULTRALIGHT” option. Here at DMI our ULTRALIGHT has always been slightly different at a 2” i.d. The ULTRALIGHT axle also utilizes a different material. At DMI the 1.875” units are built from domestic 7075-T6 aluminum while our 2” axles were produced from domestic 7068-T6 material proprietary to Kaiser Aluminum. The 7068 aluminum offers increased tensile and yield strength. We will continue to produce our standard 1.875” i.d. axles from the 7075-T6 aluminum AND offer an EXTREME DUTY version of 1.875” i.d. axles produced from the 7068-T6 material for an additional charge. • Lucas Oil Speedway MO)One of the rising prospects of sprint-car racing is far too young to have seen Jesse Hockett impress in both the winged and wingless divisions of the sport. • High Limit)This summer, Brad Sweet was enduring his longest losing streak as a professional Sprint Car driver in the last seven years. On Thursday night, he put an end to all that drought talk. After 112 days and 35 races without a win, "The Big Cat" finally returned to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane as Port Royal Speedway opened up Tuscarora 50 week with Kubota High Limit Racing. It's his first win since May 16 but seventh of the year, putting him back by Rico Abreu and Corey Day as winningest driver with the series in 2024. High Limit9/6

  • Port Royal Speedway PA)Leading into the night, social media was a stir as a quote from Brad Sweet circulated. "It's really fun to go into Pennsylvania...take their money and talk a little smack," said Sweet in an interview with FloRacing. Sweet rolled off the A-main in the 5th starting spot while Anthony Macri and Rico Abreu would be the pair on the front row. Central PA 9/6
